Ladies, be aware of your surroundings when you go out
Two Troy University students are under arrest after the discovery of a gang rape was found on a cell phone. According to NY Daily News, 22-year old Delone Martisse and 23-year old Ryan Austin Calhoun have been charged with sexual battery after they were identified on tape raping a woman in Panama City, Florida during spring break.
Initially, police had no knowledge of any rape occurring. According to Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen, Bay County police were investigating an Alabama shooting when they came across the cell phone. Police say that on the video, the woman appears to be unresponsive while multiple men are raping her. At one point, one man can be heard saying, “She isn’t going to know.” During the rape, there are a group of onlookers who do absolutely nothing to help the young woman.
After sending the video to Troy University, police were able to identify the suspects and the young lady. Martisse and Calhoun have been suspended from the university pending further investigation. The young woman, whose name has not been released, told police that she had been drugged during the attack. She says didn’t report the rape because she could not remember what happened.
