When there’s a will, there’s a way...and don’t get any ideas.
A Brooklyn father has been arrested for doing something that most would consider weird. Twenty four year old Kevin Hargrove is accused of walking off with thousands dollars worth of diapers from a local grocery stores. According to NY Daily News, the father would go to Stop and Shop, swap price codes on the diapers with tags from 99 cent items and pay at check out.
Hargrove most likely got the 99 cent code from disposable pie plates. While being interviewed by police, Hargrove willingly admitted to hitting up stores and getting the diapers:
“If I had to guess I’ve hit every Stop & Shop in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut,” Hargrove told cops. “I’ve been doing this so long I can’t remember.”
The father told officers the reason why he did it was to get diapers for his family, but also sell it on the streets. The father paid $1.09 for $99.36 worth of diapers. Hargrove was arraigned in Naussau County First District Court in Hempstead Long Island for grand larceny and falsifying business records. He is currently being held on $6,000 bond.
