Many people took to the streets to protest the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, and one mother made sure her son would not contribute to the destruction of the city. In the video above, the unknown woman can be seen smacking and cursing at a young man, who was apparently her son. Select neighborhoods in Baltimore erupted in riots after the funeral of 25-year old Freddie Gray who, mysteriously died from a spinal cord injury while in police custody.
This mother has been praised by popular media and Baltimore city officials for preventing her son from participating in the violent protests, but this did little to deter others from staying their course. 200 people were arrested, 144 vehicle fires, and 15 structural fires destroyed buildings and institutions around the city of Baltimore during yesterdays events.
