History was made a couple of days ago as the legend of Odell Beckham Jr. continues to grow for the young Louisiana prodigy. On Wednesday May 15, the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year was voted Madden NFL 16 cover man over New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. By beating out “Gronk”, Odell becomes the first rookie to ever accomplish the feat and youngest to ever grace the cover of the storied video game franchise. Beckham Jr. had a record setting rookie year for the New York Giants. Becoming the primary target for Eli Manning after Victor Cruz‘s season-ending injury, Odell caught 91 passes for a total of 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns through a span of 12 games he saw action for Big Blue. He currently holds NFL rookie records for the highest average receiving yards per game in a rookie season (108.8)

Due in stores August 25, Madden NFL 16 introduces new controls for receivers and defenders. In addition, EA introduces the gamer the ablility to control your favorite players while the ball is in the air. Along with the innovative game mechanics, Madden introduces new TD celebrations such as Odell’s famous “whip-dance”. Check out the trailer below.
