Shontelle, the Barbadian singer-songwriter known for her hit singles “T-Shirt” and “Impossible,” has signed with SMH Entertainment. With the newly inked deal, the songbird and is currently working on her album, slated to be released this year.

Shontelle’s career is undeniable — her video for “Impossible” has over 100 million views on Vevo, and she’s sold over a million records overseas and has co-written and performed on songs with Rihanna. Additionally, she’s collaborated with Bruno Mars, Tony Kanal from No Doubt, Akon, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, The Dream and many others.

Shontelle plans on reaching new heights through her new signing with SMH Entertainment and she’s excited to get started. “I’m starting a brand new journey with SMH,” she said. “My decision to team up with SMH comes mainly from a combination of my trust in my team and strong recommendations coming from key players in my career to date and my own research. After meeting the team the conclusion I came to was that SMH is group of visionary people, just like myself who truly have a genuine passion and love for music and arts and are not controlled by money or corporate greed, even though commercial success and financial gain is the ultimate goal.”

SMH Entertainment is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, but has representatives all over the US, including Los Angeles, New York and Nashville. They currently have a distribution deal with INgrooves. Besides Shontelle, Horseshoe Gang, Kxng Crooked of Eminem’s Slaughterhouse and One Shot TV Show are all part of the SMH umbrella.
