No, the title of this track is not a new slang for, “It’s G, ma.” No, you probably haven’t heard it in the clubs, yet. And no, Keith Ape is not related or has any affiliation to Gorilla Zoe. Keith Ape is a Korean rapper who has blown up this year with his OG Maco inspired “IT G MA” video (now over 10 million views). Since releasing the original on New Year’s, he’s sold out shows at SXSW, SOB’s in NYC, and The Line in Los Angeles. Now, he’s getting ready for an EP to be produced by Southside of 808 Mafia and carrying out his master plan of bringing the rest of his crew, the Cohort, over the states for the wildest party you’ve ever witnessed.

With help from his new manager Sean of CXSHXNLY and the hype surrounding the original track, the remix of Keith’s underwater squad anthem gets the official treatment with some of the usual suspects in today’s Hip-Hop grander circles. The only name you may be unfamiliar with is battle rapper turned Drake co-signed studio rapper, Dumbfounded AKA Parker. Oh, and that goes for the producer of the track as well, Junior Chef, who is bound to get placement with more American artists this year. Only time will tell how much success the Cohort experiences in the coming months.

You can purchase the single on iTunes. And if you’re still wondering what the title of the track means, it’s Korean for, “Don’t forget it.”

Mad props to Donnie Kwak for the video premiere and profile.
