4. Michael Jackson came into the VMAs and made his own column.
The producers over at MTV noticed that the VMAs fell on the same day as Michael Jackson’s 44th birthday and wanted to publicly wish him a happy birthday by having Brittney Spears present him with a musical note cake, and that’s it. But miscommunication led Michael to believe that he was being presented with the “artist of the millennium” award which actually doesn’t exist. Ironically, Michael had a whole speech prepared so was this really miscommunication? Who knows, but if the award did exist he deserved it anyway. Long live the King of Pop.
