Things We Learned in Sports

September is finally upon us, which means cold beers, tailgates, and football. College football has already started and the pro game is just days away. So many questions that need to be answered in this football frenzy edition of The Things We Learn in Sports.

7) Always say your prayers before you play the game.

Opening weekend in college football had a lot of crazy moments, but none bigger then the end of the BYU-Nebraska game. BYU took on the Huskers for their home opener, and the beginning of the Mike Riley era.

Trailing 28-27 with one second remaining, BYU had one last chance to win with a Hail Mary from the Nebraska 42-yard line.

Incredibly, the Cougars’ prayers were answered.

To make matters worse, Nebraska payed BYU to come and play them.

Not a bad day at the office for the Cougars.

6) Beyonce takes James Harden to another level

If begin second in the MVP balloting, getting you team to the Western Conference Finals, or dating a Kardashian can’t get you mainstream love, Beyonce sure will. Beyonce wore a customized Harden jersey during her Budweiser Made in America performance. When the Rockets star saw it, he approved. Here’s what Harden thought about the outfit: “Bey got too much swagger in that jersey!! @beyonce #MadeinAmerica #H-Tiinnnneeeee.”   Harden has officially made it.

5) Brady beats the NFL O.K., did not see this coming. Tom Brady was able to beat the NFL and is now eligible to play week one against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 10th. Brady seems to now just want to move on for the situation and get back to playing football. https://youtu.be/Cy00xucKzLo Seems like everyone, expect Roger Goodell, is ready to let this situation go.
