Few topics have been talked about as feverishly this year as the prospect of Idris Elba succeeding Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. The rumors were fueled by Craig himself, who fingered Elba as a “great” follow-up to his 5-film tenure, which–barring an extension–will end with the installment that follows Spectre, the highly-anticipated Bond film releasing this November.
Since then, Elba himself has admitted that the fanfare surrounding the rumors have somewhat ruined his chances, and of course there was that awkward postulation by the franchise’s author that Elba is “too street” for the role. Still, hopeful Elba fans haven’t counted out their man just yet, and this faux-trailer, which comes courtesy of Vulture, will do little to end the speculation.
As part of their “remix” series, Vulture has chopped up some relevant footage of some other Elba films for a rather enticing–and believable–James Bond trailer.
