New York rapper, Shindig, has been building up quite a buzz in the underground scene lately. He gave us “Playground” earlier this year, which got excellent feedback in Austin for SXSW, and now he’s decided to take us back to the block to give us his latest banger, “Digital Murder.”
Teaming up with a group of jiggy producers, VeryRvre –who’s notable tracks are A$AP Rocky’s “Purple Kisses,” as well as A$AP Ferg’s “Hood Pope” & “Fergsomnia,”– Shindig raps over what sounds like an Nintendo video game trap beat giving us upbeat bars about how growing up in urban cities can deplete your dreams and kill your innocence. Set in one of New York City’s many projects, director, Hidji, does a great job of showing the close correlation of young boys vs. young men, and how fast the lines can get crossed when playing manhunt and basketball turns into playing with guns and girls. Rapper, Donmonique, who is also creating quite a buzz for herself in the NYC underground scene, makes a cameo in the video.
