GUY LAROCHE PRESENTS SPRING 2016 COLLECTION AT PARIS FASHION WEEK

The Guy Laroche Spring/Summer 16 collection sticks to the ‘deconstructed’ aesthetic that now defines the brand.

Many garments have chain embellishments, pockets, buttons and draped belts. The fabric is a mix of army greens, cream, royal blue and black. Some of the bolder pieces consist of camouflage print, asymmetrical stripes and floral hints. Each model had a deep side part, and their hair was pinned to one side with loose waves. The sleekness set the tone and highlighted the urban jungle themed make up. Each bold piece boasted a unique quality that could be recognized at quick glance. This collection is full of vibrancy, and recognizes creative director Adam Andrascik’s artistic ability.

The beauty look was created by MAC Cosmetics. The lead make up artist shared:

“Alex Box is the person that can put something perfect like the perfect liner or the queen of deconstruction. So basically we’re doing the liner really sort of messy, to make it look lived in. She did say that the feeling is sort of tropical, humidity, urban jungle. She said the liner should almost mimic leaves, like the veins you see in leaves. So it feels very Spring, feels very earthy. We used the new strobe cream in gold, underneath foundation (Studio WaterWeight & Studio Finish), to give the skin a humidity feeling and we’re using the eye trend palate, using two colors, wrapping it around the eye first, putting the soft and gentle mineralize on top of it. And then also, putting the colors in the palms of your hand, pressing it into the cheek, feeling the cheek bone, doing the temple, brushing up the brow.  The girls are getting two different looks, either one with a green sort of khaki cacti feeling, or one that is blue.

One of the amazing things about working with Alex is that the liner doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s about a feeling. There’s not going to be a total symmetry, but you get the feeling/mood of the liner through the models face like her impression. So again, it’s just really simple, clean skin, it really feels like a summer makeup, it feels warm, it feels like the middle of the summer when you’re the most tan, and with the difference of having the shadow and pieces of metallic added with soft and gentle so in the inner corner of the eye, bow of the lip, and right on top of the cheek. The lip itself is just a lip conditioner with just the highlight on top. So the lip looks a little bit pouty but the focus really is this beautiful canvas as well as the liner, and some girls won’t have liner.

Make up this season is really about individualism, it’s looking at each person figuring out what looks best on her. So just making the makeup work for each model.”
