Listen to Danja’s Premonitions Instrumental EP

There’s something powerful about the church, outside of the obvious religious context, that creates some of the greatest musicians. Danja is no exception. He started working with Timbaland in 2003 and it was game over from there. They worked on hit after hit (“Put You On Game,” “Promiscuous,” and most of Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds). And with two Grammy’s under his belt, he continues to put out new music.

This seven track EP is full of haunting, not of this world production that can be thoroughly enjoyed without lyrics. Each track is liquid in the sense that they morph and change shapes as they progress, but in the end they never stray too far and you’re still left with some supercharged water. As the wise sage and Unsigned Hype alumnus Mick Jenkins advocates, “drink more water.” He even shows various tones and colors with slower tracks like “Nitrogeneration” to counterbalance upbeat, funky ones like “Sex Machine.”

Bryan Hahn is relieved to find music that is as complex as him. He’s on Twitter (@notupstate).
