You Can No Longer Favorite Things on Twitter

Introducing, the “Like” button.

The “Favorite” function on Twitter, long known as the most effective way to keep a running log of the results of your timeline creeping, is no longer. Twitter has gone the Facebook route, and made the third tweet action–the first and second being “Reply” and “Retweet”–a “Like” button, which is displayed in the form of a heart, taking the place of the 5-pointed star that indicated the “Favorite”.

Don’t totally freak out, though. Twitter has kept your favorites and turned them into likes, so back to your regularly scheduled creeping. Keep in mind, however, that the “Like” button is probably more of a ringing endorsement than the “Favorite” option.
