Much like the man that finished just ahead of her at #7 in this year’s Radio Power 30 rankings, Big Boy, Angie Martinez has spent more than the last decade being the most recognizable and ubiquitous radio face of a whole coast, etching out her reputation as the “Voice of the People” during her signature years at Hot 97. Last year, iHeart pried Angie away from her home of 18 years, making her the new Power 105.1 afternoon staple. She would also sign a management deal with her friend Jay Z’s media management company, Roc Nation, with the intent of building out her brand even more. As long as there’s radio on the east coast, there’s a pretty darn good chance Angie Martinez is as the forefront of it.
