Paris Has Erupted in Shootings and Explosions, A Reported 35 Are Dead, 100 More Taken As Hostages

The Associated Press is reporting that at least 60 people have died in separate incidents in Paris today.

A series of explosions that was reportedly “loud enough to penetrate the sounds of cheering fans,” occurred outside a Paris stadium at a nearby bar, and a shootout in another restaurant claimed the lives of at 11 people on what is now the deadliest day in France in several decades. In another incident, at Bataclan Theatre, a reported 100 people have been taken hostage, and 15 have been killed.

According to Bloomberg, U.S. officials believe the attacks were coordinated, and President Obama is preparing to speak on the incidents in the coming minutes.
