Another one of the typical pursuits for athletes post career is broadcasting. ESPN, CBS Sports, FOX Sports and several other sports platforms are loaded with ex-athletes providing insight on the game from personal experience. Whether it be the x’s and o’s, or breaking down certain situations from a insider’s perspective, articulate athletes find a great way to remain actively involved in the sport that they love and be in front of the camera. Great examples of such are Deion Sanders on NFL Network, Charles Barkley on NBA on TNT, and Jalen Rose on ESPN, amongst others. Kobe Bryant is one of the smartest basketball players to ever step foot on the court, and with a high basketball I.Q., he would be able to add an elite perspective to all of the goings on both on and off the court. After suffering a season ending injury a few seasons ago, Bryant joined Twitter and was giving his opinion on the Lakers play on the court from a viewers perspective and it was rare glimpse into the mind of a basketball legend. Surely every major sports platform will be lined up for his services if he chooses to do so.
