ABC affiliate WGNO is reporting that Colombian lawyers are filing a lawsuit agains the Miss Universe pageant, claiming that “the crown is an acquired right that cannot be taken away from us.”
In case you missed it, on Sunday evening, Steve Harvey, the host of the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant, mistakenly announced Miss Colombia as the winner of the elite beauty competition. Shortly after that, he apologized profusely for his mistake, and had the crown removed from Miss Colombia’s head and placed on the head of the competition’s true winner, Miss Philippines.

There aren’t many details on the lawsuit, but it’s clear that the country of Colombia took this matter very seriously, and isn’t quite ready to let it blow over.
