On January 9, HBO will air a concert special about J. Cole‘s 2014 Forest Hills Drive tour stop in his hometown of Fayetteville, NC, which featured surprise appearances from Drake and Jay Z. However, in the weeks leading up to the airing of the special, Cole will unleash a four-part prelude to the special, which he’s pegged as the Road to Homecoming documentary.
The four-part series intimately documents J. Cole’s movements from the time he cryptically announced his third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive–which has since gone platinum–on Twitter, up until the fateful homecoming show in August of this year.
