Holly Holm’s Coach Hopes Ronda Rousey “Has The Guts” For A Rematch

Holly Holm became a household name following her stunning knockout victory over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, becoming the new UFC Bantamweight Champion. Always one to remain gracious and humble, Holm’s coach Mike Winkeljohn doesn’t have those same attributes. During an interview with Submission Radio, Winkeljohn didn’t bite his tongue when the conversation turned to Rousey.

Let’s have her fight, go fight whoever they give us. Show the world that it’s not one-and-done with Holly Holm, that she can destroy the next person. And then, if Ronda has the guts to do it again, let’s do it again for some big money.

After the big showdown between the two fighters, UFC President Dana White said unequivocally that there would be an immediate rematch between the two, going as far as to say that his promoter license should be revoked if he cannot sign an immediate rematch. Rousey on the other hand has been focused on other things. The former champ continues to be a major star in mainstream media, being booked to host Saturday Night Live as well as several other entertainment projects.

With that said, Holm’s next bout will be with number 2-ranked contender Miesha Tate, who has a rivalry of her own with Rousey. If Holly Holm is able to best Tate, the return match with Ronda Rousey would be set for UFC 200, making it the biggest rematch in UFC history.
