Hit-Boy‘s been sharpening his skill as an MC for a minute and it sounds like he’s got something special coming. Today [Monday, January 18 2016] the Grammy-winning producer followed up the release of the Wale-featured banger “Yadda Yadda” with a smooth cut titled “Divine Guidance.”
As its name suggests, the track is one of the HS87 front runner’s more soulful cuts, making use of a beautiful gospel choir to give it that Sunday morning feeling. The track is co-produced by David “Preach” Bal4 and Whoarei, who made the second half of Kendrick Lamar’s “u” one of the darkest but best parts of To Pimp a Butterfly.
In a statement to Billboard, Hit-Boy said that “Divine Guidance” will be included on his full length project, due in the next few months.
“This song is a very personal moment for me; from the time I started dropping my own music I’ve wanted to make it true to who I was and this is my most honest record yet,” Hit-Boy said. “This song is part of a full length Hit-Boy project coming in the first quarter of 2016.”
