Comedian Mike Epps is known for bringing the funny, but his recent decision wasn’t a laughing matter. According to TMZ, Epps has decided to throw in the towel on his marriage of 10 years to wife, Mechelle.
According to reports, Mike filed the divorce papers Tuesday [January 26] in L.A. superior court. Although there are no reports on the official reason for the split or if there was a prenup, it was stated in the paperwork the two have been separated since last summer. Mike’s also asking for joint custody of their two daughters, Maddie and Mariah, ages 8 and 10.
Despite going through a divorce, things on the business side are looking great for Epps. He’s announced the opening date for his new feature film (which he directed and plays the leading role in) Meet the Blacks, scheduled to be released on April 1, 2016.
