In recognition of Black History Month, and in celebration of our country’s first Black president, Michael Skolnik—entrepreneur, activist and storyteller—started a simple hashtag #ObamaAndKids
However, the response from the Twitter community has been anything but simple. Timelines continue to be flooded with heart warming photos of President Obama in candid poses sharing personal moments with the youngest generation of Americans, our country’s children.
It’s said that a picture speaks a thousand words, but when put together these powerful and spirited images tell even more. They tell a story.
They represent not only progress, but also future advancement and change. Amid all of our country’s current racial turmoil, the new generation; a generation that grew up with a Black president in office, carry with them a different perspective. They are witnessing what is, and watching limits change as to what could be.
Check out a few of the photos below, and you’ll see why the country was captivated by #ObamaAndKids.
