Kanye West is a ranter, this much we know. He’s developed quite a knack for drawing attention to his opinions and beliefs thanks to aggressive, relentless tweets and public appearances, from claiming George Bush doesn’t care about Black people, to nearly upstaging the GRAMMYs as Beck accepted his Album of the Year award last year.
Recently, West’s forum of choice has been Twitter, and since the turn of the new year, it’s been rocking and rolling with whatever passes through Kanye’s mind, be it a war of words with Wiz Khalifa or a confession of just how much money he’s spent trying to get his Yeezy Season clothing line and Yeezy Boost shoe operation off the ground. Today, ‘Ye decided to focus on the GRAMMYs, which awarded Taylor Swift‘s 1989 the coveted Album of the Year award last week–something Kanye was not happy with–and has had an interesting relationship with West since he upstaged the “Bad Blood” singer at the 2009 MTV VMAs. Kanye requested that the President of the Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences, Neil Portnow, have a meeting with West so they can make the GRAMMYs “culturally relevant” again, before listing artists and art that he feels should’ve been acknowledged by last week’s ceremony, including A$AP Rocky‘s “L$D” video, Future‘s “March Madness,” and Young Thug.
We need to see Young Thug at the Grammys. Not just me and Jay in a suit.

Has anyone at the Grammys ever heard March Madness??? Yes I have a problem with the Grammys.

First order of business. We the people need to see Future at the Grammys.

In addition to all of that, Ye announced that he has a “new album coming this summer,” which sent fans into an absolute frenzy, and for good reason. Kanye has never released two albums in the same year, and considering how long it took him to deliver The Life of Pablo–he began teasing the album in the spring of 2014, it was released less than two weeks ago–the likelihood of that statement being truly accurate is low. Still, if there’s a word to describe Kanye West, it’s unpredictable, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
