Charges Against Teens Accused of Brooklyn Rape Dropped, Alleged Victim Slept With Father Says Bklyn DA

A judge dropped the charges against five teenagers accused of gang-raping an 18-year-old girl in a park in early January this morning. Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson said that not only did the alleged victim’s account of the story keep changing, but she admitted to investigators that there was no gun at the incident (her official reports to police claimed one of the teens flashed a gun at her father, forcing him to flee the scene).

In addition to those inconsistencies, Thompson claimed that the girl was having sex with her own father, which is what the teens first retorted during the initial investigations. Here’s a statement, taken from the NY Daily News. “The complainant has recanted her allegations of forcible sexual assault and the existence of a gun, and she does not wish to pursue criminal charges against any of the defendants. She also refuses to cooperate with any prosecution against her father, who was engaging in sexual conduct with her.”

In initial reports of the incident, five boys allegedly took turns raping the 18-year-old girl at Osborne playground in Brooklyn after brandishing a gun at her dad, which allegedly made him run for his life. The teens reportedly told authorities that they spotted the girl and her father having sex in the park, and they engaged in consensual sex acts after he ran away.
