Drake Reveals Release Date for Newest OVO Signee DVSN’s Debut Album

Since its inauguration in late 2012, OVO Sound has steadily built a reputation of being the home to several young, largely unproven, emotionally stimulating artists, like its inaugural signee, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and recent addition Roy Woods. The last three years have been rather productive for the label, including the signings of Majid Jordan, ILoveMakonnen (the label’s sole rapper), and the addition of producer Nineteen85, whose presence was immediately felt on Drake’s last LP, Nothing Was The Same (he produced the album’s biggest hit, “Hold On We’re Going Home).

85’s impact was felt again earlier this month, when rumors swirled that Drake added yet another R&B act to the fold, the ambiguous dvsn–with whom the producer has worked with in the past–thanks to an Instagram picture uploaded by the group of their logo in the traditional OVO Sound colors of black and gold. Today’s news confirms that, as Drake announced via his Instagram that their debut album would be released on April 1, and shared the artwork for the project.

Not much is known about dvsn at this point, in fact, outside of Nineteen85’s involvement, there aren’t any surefire details about the group at all floating around the internet, which mirrors the initial introductions of OVO and OVO-affiliated acts like The Weeknd, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Majid Jordan.
