A Glen Rose, Tex. mother has been charged with injury to a child after local deputies accused her of burning her two-year-old daughter in an oven.
According to KDFW-TV, 35-year-old Tasha Hatcher was arrested late Thursday [March 17] after she told Somervell County sheriff’s deputies she had put the girl in the oven. The toddler is now in the hands of Child Protective Services (CPS), where she is being treated for second and third-degree burns at Parkland Hospital in the nearby city of Dallas. The Glen Rose Reporter states the girl is currently in stable condition.
KDFW reached out to a family friend, who said, “I really would’ve never, ever … expected this out of her – never. I wasn’t even sure when I heard it that it was true. It’s … unimaginable.”
Her uncle added he and other relatives are not allowed to have any contact with the girl during the investigation.
Hatcher’s bail is set at $300,000.
