Not too long ago an article ran about the resurgence in play LeBron James has had the past two weeks, which he attributes to him being in “playoff mode.”
No offense to James, but the beauty of Kobe Bryant, that we as fans will probably miss, is his competitive fire and his ability to stay in “playoff mode,” regardless of the competition. So when a story comes out that Bryant is taking pride in never losing a one-on-one battle, you have to take it as players of Bryant’s caliber don’t come everyday.
This was actually Kobe's face when I asked him if anyone's beaten him 1-on-1 😂

Bryant, like his idol Michael Jordan before him, thrived in do-or-die situations where it’s you versus the competition. They craved it and wanted it. So with Bryant’s last game in the NBA approaching, let’s remember how much Bryant made an impact on the game. Not just from a physical gifts standpoint, but from the mental, take-no-prisoners approach. Bryant went in never losing one-on-one, and left that way. That’s the way he likes it.
