Beyonce surprise-dropped her latest single, “Formation,” the day before the Super Bowl, then promptly performed it at a star-studded halftime show alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars. Shortly after, she would announce the Formation World Tour, which will hit major arenas across the country all summer long. Queen Bey season had arrived, and the only thing missing was the album, which has yet to be officially announced (and, considering the way she dropped her last album, Beyonce, might never be officially announced).
However, Beyonce is giving fans time to prepare for her next release, which appears to be a new single and music video called “Lemonade.” Bey just dropped the official trailer for the “special event” on her YouTube page, and at the end of the trailer its revealed that “Lemonade” will arrive on HBO at 9 p.m. on April 23, a week from today.
