Coachella weekend kicked off last night out in California, and the marquee acts wasted no time in surprising the landmark festival’s crowd. A$AP Rocky, who had a stellar 2015 as he released his second #1 album, At.Long.Last.A$AP., and embarked on a successful tour with Tyler, The Creator, Danny Brown and Vince Staples, has been quite close with Kanye West in recent months. Rocky joined Kanye West on the chorus of Pusha T‘s “M.P.A.” back in December, Kanye delivered a hilarious guest verse on Rocky’s “Jukebox Joints” even before that, and Rocky was seen holed up in the studio several times with Yeezy as he completed his ever-evolving The Life of Pablo album earlier this year.
Last night on the Coachella stage, just before his set ended, Rocky brought Kanye out so the two could turn up together to “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1,” one of the most popular and highest-charting songs off of Pablo. Unfortunately, it appears that Rocky waited a bit too long to execute the surprise, and the rappers’ mics were cut by the festival for going overtime, according to Rap-Up.
Still, check out some brief footage of the moment below.
