Russell Westbrook needs to put a lid on it, and fast. The fiery Thunder point guard has already been fined $25,000 this week for screaming “f*ck you!” to a Dallas Mavericks fan during OKC’s Game 3 victory, and footage has surfaced of Westbrook getting into another verbal altercation with a fan during Game 4 in Dallas, just before he checked into the game.
Though the people Westbrook were speaking to aren’t visible in the video, it’s pretty clear he’s speaking to a couple, judging by the fact he tells the guy to “sit down with your wife and shut the f*ck up.” Westbrook isn’t necessarily known for being a more visibly frustrated player than most–he just plays angry all the time–and considering the Thunder wrapped up their series with Dallas in pretty seamless fashion, it’s unclear why he was so fed up with Dallas fans during his time in Texas.
Then again, when has Russell Westbrook ever needed a reason to snap? His personality is part of the reason the Thunder are where they are. Still, it would behoove Russ to chill out with the profanity towards patrons, before these fines turn into suspensions.
