Since when is becoming a master chef a major step towards becoming a top NFL prospect?
With the 2016 NFL Draft going down tonight on ESPN, major pro experts and scouts have finally rounded up their notes from recent pro days and NFL Combine showcases. One of the top prospects every scout has their eye on is Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple. Lately, Apple has been the eye of major draft headlines, but an anonymous scout recently evaluated Eli on and off the field, and had some peculiar comments.
Unfortunately, this scout was not impressed with the former Buckeye’s potential off the field, despite Apple being touted by many as a surefired first-round pick. The anonymous scout had this to say about the Jersey native:
I worry about him because of off-the-field issues. The kid has no life skills. At all. Can’t cook. Just a baby. He’s not first round for me. He scares me to death.
Word got out to Eli’s mother and it’s safe to say she went “HAM” in her son’s defense via Twitter.
We dont respond to anonymous people & things. They’re not real to us. What’s real is this amazing dream our son is living rite now. #GoBucks

Btw, Eli’s dad is a retired five star chef. We eat well. So stop playing with our name. Next time you say our name, put some respeck on it ? — Annie Apple (@SurvivinAmerica) April 27, 2016
This is not the first time someone questioned Eli’s ability or lifestyle. Apple was the talk of the nation back in March when an Atlanta Falcons scout questioned his sexuality, hinting at the fact that LGBT culture has been growing in Georgia, and it may have swept Apple under its current. Maybe focus more on his football skills?
