Later this month at the Cannes Film Festival, the film 100 Years – The Movie You Will Never See, will have a special kind of “showing.” Announced last November, the concept behind the film, starring John Malkovich and directed by Robert Rodriguez, is that no one will see the film for one hundred years.
The release date is apparently set for November 18, 2115. For the appearance at Cannes, the film will be on display in a special safe. The film will then go on tour to other countries, before being stored until 2115.
The press release for the film described the special display:
“[The display will] ensure that 100 Years remains secure until its official premiere [and will be] held in a special safe that will open automatically in 100 years when the timing is complete.”
