A Virginia public library is going the extra mile to encourage people (both young and old) to read. Taking Sir Mix-A-Lot’s classic “Baby Got Back,” the library has flipped the lyrics to make them relatable to reading books.
According to Complex, information specialist Brittney Ash changed the lyrics and put them on display inside the library, instantly catching the attention of library users and eventually posting them online. Ash creatively took the well-known lyrics (dedicated to big butts, of course) and came up with her own rap which starts with, “I like big books and I cannot lie/You other readers can’t deny.”
Christine Brantley, the library’s community relations and development manager, explained to ABC News Ash creates different types of displays to help promote the library’s collections. Hey, whatever works!
