Last year, Sprite made canned beverage waves when they wrapped their soda cans with lyrics from Nas, Drake, Rakim and The Notorious B.I.G. as part of their “Obey Your Verse” campaign, which seeks to ‘identify artists who represent Sprite’s point of view of staying true to yourself, artists who stay true to who they are and what they want to represent,’ according to Bobby Oliver, the Director of Sprite & Citrus Brands, Coca-Cola North America.

This year the campaign, has returned with all new artists. Lyrics from J. Cole, Missy Elliott and Tupac will cover Sprite cans everywhere beginning later this month. Specifically, here are the songs from which lyrics will be pulled.

Tupac
“Keep Ya Head Up”
“When We Ride”
“Wake Me When I’m Free”

Missy Elliott
“WTF (Where They From)”
“Hot Boyz”

J. Cole
“Grown Simba”
“Love Yourz”

The campaign won’t just be limited to cans, either. The lyrics will be emblazoned across 20-ounce bottles in addition to 12, 20 and 24-packs of 12-ounce cans.

According to Oliver, “In the ‘80s we were in the forefront and taking a subculture and pushing it into the mainstream culture. We embraced the genre early on, when no other brand from a corporate perspective was doing that. Continuing it through the years is critically important to us. Honest self-expression is what hip hop is all about and the piece of it we found very meaningful to the Sprite brand as well.”
