Turk and Cash Money have history that goes way back. According to numerous reports, the relationship went sour due to infrequent compensation from the label. It seems as if Turk has now put his issues aside and decided to re-sign with Cash Money following his release from prison.

The Hot Boys member was signed to Cash Money in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. In 2004 he was arrested and charged with first degree attempted murder after shooting two officers during a drug raid. Turk, then 22, served eight years, eight months and 14 days of his 14 year sentence being released in October 2012. Upon his release he’s become a changed man, shaking his drug habits and all negativity from his life. Turk spoke with MTV News in 2012 about possible collaborations between Baby, Mack Maine, and himself. “It’s in the air right now that we working,” Turk said. “Mack Maine just sent me a song to get on with him and Baby, you know what I’m saying? So we ’bout to get it in. Then I’mma send them something, so they can get on something for me.”

In 2013, Turk spoke with HipHopDX regarding the possibilities of a Hot Boys reunion. He was unsure about a lot, but he knew that through God’s will it would pan out. “The heart of a man, it could change; sometimes it gets hard, sometimes it gets soft. And, when you dealing with a lot of money and you dealing with a lot of talent, you dealing with a lot of ego and pride. With that being said, I don’t know what God got in store for the old Cash Money clique…would there ever be a Hot Boys reunion. But, it’s all love. And right now, my situation, it’s just friendly competition.”

At the time, Turk was reportedly working on new music and an autobiography, The AutoThugography of Turk. It seems as if the time in the studio has paid off as he’s now re-signed to Cash Money Records. Turk took to Instagram posting a video on July 3 to announce the good news saying, “Yea I Signed Back With #CashMoneyRecords”. He then posted to Twitter, explaining he never left Cash Money to begin with. The post read “I Never Left I Just Went To Prison And Got My Mind And Heart Right!!!
