The shooter in today’s tragedy has been identified by the Dallas police department as 25-year-old Micah Xavier Johnson. No further information has been released concerning his motives or his background.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch just spoke at a press conference, condemning the actions of the shooter, and calling for non-violent action to be the response of the country to all of the tragic events of this week. She emphasized that violence is not the appropriate response to these events, and that everyone must seek action to address the issues that are surrounding these terrible events.
