“El Gordo y la Flaca” reigns as a comedic, punchy taste of Univision Network since 1998. Last year, it took Daytime Emmy Outstanding Entertainment Program in Spanish. Both Estefan and De Molina have stars on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars and Mexico’s El Paso de las Luminarias for their decades spent in the television industry. Come October, another acclaim will add to the list.

Almost 500 executives of media and business companies from the United States, Latin America, and Spain are expected to attend the event, with a heavy attention towards the business end of Hispanic television this year. Leaders will present three awards at the luncheon. NBCUniversal Chairman Cesar Conde will receive the first Award for Executive Leadership in Hispanic Television & Video for his large contribution to the expansion of Hispanic television. at&t/DIRECTV will take home Corporate Leadership in Hispanic Television & Video for the diversity of products made available to Hispanic patrons. And the El Gordo y la Flaca hosts will receive the special honor of Outstanding Achievement in Hispanic Television.

Estefan and De Molina join the likes of boxer Oscar De La Hoya, news anchors María Elena Salinas and Jorge Ramos, telenovela actress and host Lucero, and sportscaster Andrés Cantor in being honored at during NYC Television & Video Week.
