Former NFL Linebacker Tom Jackson Will Not Return To ESPN’s ‘Sunday NFL Countdown’

After 28 years of service for one of ESPN’s longest running shows, “TJ” is planning on calling it quits.

Former Denver Broncos linebacker great Tom Jackson has decided to step down from his role on the hit ESPN NFL coverage show, Sunday NFL Countdown. Many assumed he was forced out or forced to step down but sources are saying he made the decision on his own. Fans are shocked with the timing of the departure as training camps are around the corner. Jackson has been one of the leading anchors on the show for 28 years.

Jackson joins the likes of Cris Carter, Keyshawn Johnson, Ray Lewis and Mike Ditka as former Countdown panelists who won’t return for the 2016 season. It seems like the Sunday NFL Countdown is fully in revamp mode as the main face of the show may not return for his 30th. It will be very interesting if Chris Berman is still around to become the only and last of the Mohicans of this premier NFL fan favorite show.
