The singer was hosting an MTV VMAs pre-show party at 1OAK hotspot in West Hollywood, California back in 2014 that turned violent when a gunman opened fire.

Multiple partygoers were injured, including Suge Knight, who survived six gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen and left forearm. In June this year Knight sued the singer, and now another shooting victim, Ginja Elms, is suing Brown, claiming he is responsible for his injuries.

In the lawsuit Ginja Elms says the nightclub was aware of the singer’s alleged gang ties, and that proper security measures were not taken to ensure safety. As a result, Elms is suing Chris, 1Oak, and the evening’s host and singer Pia Mia, for over $750,000 in damages. In addition to his physical injuries, Ginja claims the incident has caused a “disruption in his relationship with his wife.”

Suge Knight filed a similar lawsuit against Breezy, 1Oak and Pia Mia back in June, in which he accused the party and venue hosts of hiring inadequate security and allowing at least one armed person to enter the event.

In Knight’s documents, he says event organizers should have taken extra security precautions because of Brown’s gang ties and a “well-documented track record of hosting events and/or parties in which violence frequently erupted”.
