Isaiah Rashad dropped the acutely framed, critically-acclaimed Cilvia Demo in January of 2014, and has yet to be officially heard from again. Outside of a loose single here and there, for more than two-and-a-half years, the Tennessee native has kept out of the spotlight and under the radar, but it appears that 2016 will be the welcomed end of his early hiatus.

Rashad dropped a single, “Smile,” earlier this year–a corresponding video was also released–and appeared to be prepping fans for the release of his imminent return project. Months later however, that project doesn’t exist–yet–but we get another teaser today of what to expect. Rashad dances all over a tranquil instrumental on “Free Lunch,” and brings his blatant commentary back to the table on a cut that should excite even someone unfamiliar with his Cilvia work.

Yesterday, TDE founder Anthony Tiffith tweeted out a cryptic release date (September 2), merely accompanied by the “#TDE” hashtag. Could that have been the vague announcement of Isaiah Rashad’s return?
