Trinity Gay, Daughter Of U.S. Olympian Fatally Shot In Kentucky

Earlier this morning [October 16] Trinity Gay, the 15 year old daughter of Olympian sprinter, Tyson Gay sadly lost her life.

Trinity was shot in her neck at a Cook-Out restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky, according to WKYT. She died from her injuries around 5 a.m. at UK Hospital.

Police responded to a call of shots fired at the restaurant just before 4 a.m. and are saying two people exchanged gunfire while in their vehicles, a gray Dodge Charger and a dark colored sports car. Trinity was not believed to have been in either vehicle. Police have two persons of interest that link to the Dodge Charger but are still looking for the other vehicle’s owner.

Trinity, like her father, was a sprinter at Lafayette High School and was on her way to following his footsteps before her life was cut short.
