The second single from his first studio album Ready to Die, “Big Poppa” features a sample of the song “Between the Sheets” (1983) by The Isley Brothers. The classic Biggie cut was also nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 1996 Grammy Awards, earned the rapper a Billboard Music Award, and was certified platinum by the RIAA.
