Not only was Michael Jackson featured in the historic track, “We Are the World”, but he co-wrote it alongside Lionel Richie and recorded the demo tracks that were distributed to the participating artists. The record which featured dozens of nationally acclaimed artists was aimed to alleviate the famine in Africa. The book was spawned into a book and videocassette, and all proceeds were donated towards famine relief efforts.
