Despite critical acclaim, Issa Rae’s hit series Insecure didn’t garner any Emmy attention. But the show creator/writer was happy as long as the winners were Black. “I’m rooting for everybody black”, Issa said at the red carpet. “I am!”
Issa also credits the authenticity of the show’s story line for bringing the show success, and making it a must-watch on Sunday nights.
