On Friday, October 6, the Department of Health and Human Services made two new rules that would allow employers to make exceptions covering birth control under Obamacare.

Employers can deny contraceptive coverage to for religious purposes and moral conviction. However, the department claims that these new rules will only affect 120,000 women nationally (Only, lol).

“No American should be forced to violate his or her own conscience in order to abide by laws and regulations governing our health care system,” the press secretary for the department said in a statement. “Today’s action affirm the Trump administration’s commitment to upholding the freedoms afforded all American under our Constitution.”

Lawsuits are already in place to refute the new rules. “The Trump administration is forcing women to pay for their boss’s religious beliefs,” the American Civil Liberties Union said in a statement.
