This makes two lil platinum thingy’s for the songbird.
SZA has sealed another platinum single the with “The Weekend”, the third single off her album, Ctrl. In October, Ctrl was certified Gold by the RIAA obtaining over 500,000 in album units and sales.
The ThankGod4Cody produced track peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. The RIAA achievement was confirmed by DJ Booth, who spoke with Liz Kennedy, the VP of Communications for the RIAA.
TDE co-president Terrence “Punch” Henderson was the first one to break the news via Twitter. “The Weekend” amounts as the second single off Ctrl to go certified Platinum following “Love Galore” which features Hip-Hop feature sensation, Travis Scott.
A gold album and two platinum records off of it. That’s crazy. More to come from it too.
