Chance The Rapper appeared on SNL last weekend saying that he vowed to give Chicago public schools $1 million, and jokingly said the problem was that he didn’t have it. Well now he does.

The supermarket chain Jewel-Osco donated $1 million to the rapper’s New Chance Arts & Literature Fund, which is in collaboration with SocialWorks, the Chicago Public School system and Ingenuity. Ingenuity is a program committed to promoting the arts education.

After the announcement was made by Jewel-Osco president Doug Cygan, Chano told an excited student body the good news.
