Nike became the official jersey manufacturer for the NBA during the 2017-18 season. The jerseys drew attention for a number of reasons. Nike is the number one conglomerate for athletic brands and attire. Their new design for a number of teams displayed much creativity. On the other hand, the jerseys failed to hold up. The beginning of the season saw these of jerseys ripped and torn apart during a several games. The sports brand received much criticism for their lack of durability of the product. In its history, the NBA has never seen so many torn jerseys in such a short period of time. Since then, it seems as if Nike has fixed the durability issue.
Their next task is the design of the 2018 NBA All- Star jerseys. The all-star game is a showcase of the best basketball players in the league. The jerseys are known for its distinguished creativity. These jerseys are lacking in that department. Where is the color?
It is unclear as to which team will sports the black and who will wear the white. Cleveland’s LeBron James received the most votes in the East and will serve as the team captain. Golden State’s Steph Curry will serve as the West’s team captain. In a new pick-up game like format, the two team captains will pick out of a pool of all-stars. NBA All- Star weekend takes place from February 16-18. The all-star game will be played on February 18 in Los Angeles, CA, 8pm ET, 5 pm PT.
