Former Epic Records CEO, L.A. Reid couldn’t stay away from the music industry, and is looking to make a return to the scene this year. The once Sony Music Entertainment executive made a surprise exit from his position with Epic, after allegations of sexual harassment from a female staffer at the label surfaced in the spring of last year. As an investigation into these claims ensued, Reid opted to make a quick exit from his post that he held for six years.

In a new report from the New York Post, the former X-Factor judge has been working with the former executive chairman of TouchTunes, Charles Goldstuck, in planning to launch a music publishing company called Hitco.

Goldstuck is known for working shoulder to shoulder with legendary record producer and music executive Clive Davis on launching J Records which eventually became RCA Music Group where artists like A$AP Mob, Bryson Tiller and G-Eazy are signed.

L.A. Reid has worked with artists across the board from Meghan Trainor, Mariah Carey and Fifth Harmony to Future, Travis Scott and DJ Khaled and Young Jeezy as just a few examples.

Prior to this venture, Reid in a joint venture with Arista produced artists like TLC, Usher and Outkast launching L.A. Reid into stardom as a music executive.

Despite the lingering scandal, Goldstuck is confident that L.A. Reid is able to find his way back into the industry on the publishing side of things and could create another venture that takes off as his previous have in the past.

The New York Post did not receive comment from L.A. Reid or Hitco in breaking this story.
