With the sentencing for the child rape case looming over his head, Nicki Minaj‘s brother is in court trying to get the judge to drop the charges.
Found guilty on endangering the welfare of a child and predatory sexual assault against a child , Jelani Maraj now faces up to 25 years in prison.
Maraj’s attorney David Schwartz asked Nassau County Supreme Court Judge Robert McDonald to toss Maraj’s conviction on his sentencing date this past Tuesday, but the judge has yet to make a ruling on that extreme request.
Schwartz claims that Maraj was set up by his estranged wife Jacqueline Robinson, the mother of the child in question, in order to extort money from his platinum selling sister. Maraj continues to deny all charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Minaj has supported her brother throughout his case, even going as far as covering his six figure bail.
